What's included
- Full on-site survey measuring every structural masonry opening, cill projection and bedroom Part B fire-escape clearance.
- Made-to-measure A-rated casement frames, warm-edge argon low-E glass units, stainless friction stays and multi-point espagnolette locks.
- Taking out and disposing of old windows, perimeter airtight foam and weather sealing, new external cills where needed, and internal reveal trim.
- VAT at 13.5% on residential supply-and-fit installations.
What pushes it up or down
- Number of opening sashes per window. A fixed pane with one top-hung fanlight costs less than a 3-section window with two side-hung openers and a top opener.
- Lipped vs flush sash profile. Standard stormproof (lipped) uPVC overlaps the outer frame; flush casements sit dead level with the outer face like traditional joinery and cost 25% to 35% more.
- Colour foiling. Smooth white uPVC is the base price; woodgrain or RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey outside with white inside adds roughly 15% to 22%.
- Triple glazing (0.8 W/m²K). Upgrading from double glazing (1.2–1.4 W/m²K) to 36mm–44mm triple glazing adds €120 to €200 per casement window.
- SEAI Windows Grant. Pre-2011 homes undergoing a qualifying heat-loss upgrade can claim €1,800 (mid-terrace), €3,000 (semi-D / end-terrace) or €4,000 (detached).

Common questions before you order
How much do casement windows cost in Ireland supplied and fitted?
A white A-rated double-glazed uPVC casement window costs €350 to €850 supplied and fitted. Colour-foiled or triple-glazed (0.8 W/m²K) uPVC casements cost €550 to €1,100, flush sash casements cost €750 to €1,300, thermally broken aluminium casements cost €700 to €1,550, and timber-alu-clad casements cost €1,100 to €1,950 per window.
How much does it cost to replace all casement windows in a 3-bed semi?
For a typical Irish 3-bed semi-detached house (8 to 10 casement windows), full replacement costs €4,500 to €8,800 in white uPVC, €6,800 to €11,500 in flush sash casements, or €9,000 to €15,500 in thermally broken aluminium. If the home qualifies for the €3,000 SEAI Windows Grant, subtract €3,000 from those totals.
What is a casement window?
A casement window is a window whose opening sash is attached to the outer frame by side-mounted or top-mounted friction hinges (stays) and swings outwards when you turn the handle. It is the most weather-tight and popular window style in Ireland because wind blowing against the glass presses the sash tighter onto its twin compression gaskets.
What is the difference between a standard casement and a flush casement window?
On a standard stormproof (lipped) casement window, the opening sash overlaps the outer frame by about 8mm to 10mm, creating a raised lip. On a flush casement window, the opening sash closes completely flush into the outer frame on one flat plane, replicating traditional 19th- and 20th-century timber joinery.
Is there an SEAI grant for replacing casement windows in 2026?
Yes. Under the SEAI Better Energy Homes scheme and One Stop Shop upgrades, pre-2011 homes can receive €4,000 (detached), €3,000 (semi-D or end-terrace), €1,800 (mid-terrace) or €1,500 (apartment) when replacing old windows with new units rated Uw ≤ 1.4 W/m²K as part of a whole-house Heat Loss Indicator improvement.
Do bedroom casement windows need fire-escape hinges in Ireland?
Yes. Under Technical Guidance Document B (Fire Safety), every habitable room without direct ground-floor escape should have an emergency egress window providing an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450mm high and 450mm wide, with the bottom cill between 800mm and 1,100mm above the bedroom floor.
